Jul 21, 2011 · Synthetic division only works with linear factors. If the trinomial factored further, say to (x-2)(2x-1), then you could use its zeros. So divide by 2, then divide the resullt by 1/2. But your trinomial is prime, and has no real zeroes. Good luck!
